Who We Are?

The Desert Voices Toastmasters Club is one of the strongest and active club in Division B and a recipient of President's Distinguished Club (2006-2007) - the highest club distinction in Toastmasters International was established in July 2004.  It has varied multinational members that comes from all walks of life; managers, marketing executives, sales executives, medical professionals, bankers, housewives and students.  They join the club as it provide them with a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop and practice communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self confidence and personal growth.  Our organization is a member club of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping men and women learn the art of speaking, listening and thinking, all of which are vital skills that enhance one's communication skills, promote self-actualization, leadership potential, foster human understanding and contribute to the betterment of mankind.

 What is the Secret to Toastmasters Success?

Practice makes perfect -->  Instead of passively listening to lectures by communications "experts", Toastmasters believe that people can only truly improve their public speaking skills by actually speaking in front of others regularly.  Our club provides a proactive and supportive atmosphere for members to speak before the club on a bi-weekly basis.  By taking advantage of our on-going speaking opportunities, you will find that those shy and awkward feelings that are common in public speaking will begin to diminish much quicker than being coached by a high priced consultant!

Desert Voices Toastmasters Club belong to District 79 of Toastmasters International which was recently adjudged the best district in the world of toastmasters, spread over 90 countries, 10,000 clubs and 200,000 members around the world.  You are welcome to be our guest and see for yourself how we help members improve their public speaking skills and actually enjoy speaking in front of the audience. 

 We Help You Realize your Communications Potential!

If you like what you see, we will start helping you to realize your communications potential.    After 15 days upon "sign up" you will receive your training manual straight from the Toastmasters International Head Office.  Not only this, a mentor will be assigned to you, so the first step to improving your speaking skills are on the right foot.  Depending on the comfort level, you will be given the opportunity to deliver your first speech, commonly called "The Ice Breaker", which is a 4-6 minutes speech about yourself.
